WSDC on Achte Minute

Well, the “update service on a regular basis” suffered a little bit (sorry for that!). We simply found so many online sources sharing results and stories (wsdc on twitter, wsdc blog, DSG webpage, Achte Minute…) that we focussed rather on socialising and prep sessions (!!) than writing. ;-)

Find a report by Christopher Sanchez aboutWSDC Dundee on Achte Minute:

We had a great time in Scotland! A big THANK YOU goes out to all of our supporters. Cheers!

Round 1 and 2 results

We were defeated  by team Wales in R1 (3-0) but won against Nepal(3-0)  in R2 on the motion “This House would allow free distribution of music on the Internet”.

So that makes one win, one loss, 3 Judged for team Germany after the first two debates.

All results are available on http://blog.schoolsdebate.com/

We’re up against Croatia and South Africa today. Go Germany!!

Let the games begin…

WSDC 2011 is officially open now! Today we’ll be debating against Wales (R1, prepared debate on the motion “This house would offer dictators immunity in return for leaving power”) and Nepal!

The official draw can be found here:

Even though the official debating rounds haven’t started yet, we already love the tournament! We’re living in dorms on campus. Team, coach and independent judge Christian Steck are sharing one floor. We cought up on some sleep (well, more or less some might say), did some practice debates yesterday and on Tuesday, attended the city tour ….and met with old and new friends, of course.

First results and all the other “big news”. will be posted here soon. For now, please keep your fingers crossed for team Germany (and for the other teams, of course)! Let the games begin…
